Nilave Nilave lyrics
Nilave nilave
Nee mayangalle
Oh moonshine (moon light) don’t take a nap
Kinavin kinavay
Nee thalodill
As a dream of dreams won’t you caress
Pranaya raa mazhayil
Ee pavizha mallika than
Nira mizhikal thazhuku
In the love-rain of night,
caress (massage/ gently touch) the tear-filled eyes
of this coral jasmine (jasmine resembling a coral)
Vennilae nilavae
Nee mayangalle
Oh beautiful moon light, moon light, dont take nap
Kinavin kinavay
Nee thalodille
As a dream of dreams won’t you caress
Mamarangal peeli neerthi
Kaattiladumbol
When big trees spread their feathers (like a peacock) and swings in the wind
Marimegham yathra cholladengu pokunnu
where are the rainy clouds going ,without saying goodbye
Tharakangal thaanirangi
Thaalmenthumbol
When stars come down and holds (flowers in) a platter
Paathiraavin thoovalariyathoornnu veezhunnu
Feather of midnight (midnight which is a feather) is slowly falling off, with out knowing
Mezhukunaalamerinjapol
Hridaya ragamozhinjupoye
Like flame of a candle burns
Love of heart goes off
Thalirithalidum viralinal
Thanu thazhukiyanayu
By the fingers which blossoms tender petals
please come caressing body
Paalupol pathanjupongiya
Praanapallaviyil
In the pallavi(thematic line of the song which repeats) of life which foams out like a milk
Paathi peyyum
Neramenthe thornnu pokunnu
why does it stops, when it rains to a half
Thaneyanennortu thellum allalerumbo
Alliyambal kunju poovin nenju novunnu
Small flower, Water lily’s heart pains
When sadness increases a little, when it remembers that it is alone
Viraha venal thirakalaal
Padarumeeran smrithikalil
In the tearful memories which spreads
by the waves, of summer of separation
Puthu ninavumaye punaruvaan
Ini arikil anayu
With new thoughts, to embrace, now come near
Nilave nilave
Nee mayangalle
Oh moonshine (moon light) don’t take a nap
Pranaya raa mazhayil
Ee pavizha mallikathan
Nira mizhikal thazhuku
In the love-rain of night,
caress (massage/ gently touch) the tear-filled eyes
of this coral jasmine (jasmine resembling a coral)
