Shreya Ghoshal shines at 5th Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards 2013
Singer Shreya Ghoshal won the award for the Female Vocalist Of The Year for Chikni Chameli from Agneepath at the 5th Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards 2013.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra, looking resplendent in a plum one-shoulder gown, gave her the award in a glittering ceremony held at Yash Raj Studios in the city.
Shreya won the award for the item song, which has been one of the most popular chartbusters of 2012 and had Katrina Kaif, in a desi avatar, showing off some slick moves.
Along with the coveted trophy, Shreya was also gifted a hamper sponsored by Reliance Digital, one of India’s fastest growing electronics retail chain.
Choosing to go traditional for the award ceremony, Shreya was seen sporting a blue sari. During the course of the evening, she also crooned a few of her popular chartbusters from the past year.
Mirchi Music Awards are presented annually by Radio Mirchi to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film music industry of India. The awards, given in seventeen different categories, were instituted to award the best of 2008. In 2010, the Southern edition of the awards – Mirchi Music Awards South was launched,to award the best of 2009. through which artists from the four South Indian film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam—are being honoured. In 2012, the Bengali edition of the awards – Mirchi Music Awards Bangla was launched, to award the best of 2011. The 2019 Mirchi Music Awards is co-powered by Smule, the world’s largest music social network, and will have the winner of the Smule Mirchi Cover Star perform on stage at this prestigious event.
