Award for Shreya Ghosal
She is a singer from Mumbai. But Shreya Ghosal has won huge accolades winning hearts of music-lovers singing songs in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam besides Hindi.
Now she has bagged the best female singer title for her songs in the film Malayalam films Rathinirvedam and Veeraputran, which were chart busters last year.
She was announced the winner by the jury of Malayalam Film Committee appointed by the Kerala government.

Rathinirvedam (2011 film)
Rathinirvedam is a 2011 Indian Malayalam-language erotic drama film directed by T. K. Rajeev Kumar and produced by Revathy Kalamandhir. Starring Shweta Menon and Sreejith. It is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name, which itself was based on the novel of the same name written by P. Padmarajan. The film was produced by Suresh Kumar under the banner of Revathy Kalamandhir.
Rathinirvedam stars Shweta Menon in the role of Rathi, and Sreejith in the role of Pappu. Shooting was done in the Onnattukara area of Kayamkulam and Mavelikkara, where the story is primarily set. Rathinirvedam was one of the most commercially successful Malayalam film of the year.
Veeraputhran (2011 film)
Veeraputhran (Malayalam: വീരപുത്രൻ; English: The Legend) is a 2011 Malayalam historical film directed by P. T. Kunju Muhammed based on the story written by N. P. Mohammed, which is based on the life of Indian Freedom fighter and anti-Colonial activist Mohammed Abdul Rahiman (1898 – 1945). The film focuses on the anti-Colonial movements in present-day Kerala during British raj. The film has Narain as Mohammed Abdul Rahiman and Raima Sen as Rahiman’s wife Kunhi Beevathu. The cast also includes Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Siddique, Kalabhavan Mani, Sai Kumar, Devan, Valsala Menon, and Sajitha Madathil.
